If you didn’t read or understand the last post we lost our baby on the 21st of July. It’s been more difficult this time around than last time but for very different reasons. There have been physical complications that are finally coming to an end. We spent the whole month of July trying to get through this. It began on July 1st with a trip to the ER. The entire month has been filled with hospital visits, doctor appointments, trips to the lab and radiology (for ultrasounds), and other such things. I was supposed to take it easy, keep my feet up, not do too much. I obeyed, for the most part; I mean, I am the mother of 6 other people afterall. RevMrKnowTea has been wonderful taking on everything else on top of his regular churchly and job #2 obligations. The older three stepped in when needed as well, but it is not the same as having mama up and about and life as normal, whatever normal is.
Thank you to those who sent kind notes in the mail, email, facebook, and twitter. Your notes were received warmly and gave us some comfort knowing you were praying for us.

The mention of RevMrKnowTea’s #2 job brings me to the next bit on the list. Pizza delivery is over for good (we pray). He has been hired on in the music department at the university here as adjunct professor. It will take a bit of adjusting to his new schedule and hour requirement, but NO MORE PIZZA DELIVERY!.

The garden was a complete failure this year. With the miscarriage and me supposed to be doing nothing the garden got overgrown, weed-filled, and a tangled mess. We did get some peppers and cucumbers worth picking and eating. As a matter of fact the banana peppers are still growing. The Brussell sprouts were overtaken by cabbage worms without the proper care from us. The garlic and onions were a total loss as well. The carrots are still growing. As well as the cherry tomatoes. We planted the okra late so it’s just coming to bloom which is good. The blackberries gave us enough this year for one good cobbler.
The herb garden did so-so. The dill died in the heat. It was just too hot this year. The oregano, thyme, basil, parsley, sage, and mint have adored this heat and the water from the sprinkler. A few weeks ago when we started ignoring the herbs as life had too much on our plates the weeds and grass overtook the garden and it all became a life of it’s own.
I went out yesterday for a few minutes to soak up some sun and see just how much damage the weeds had done. I am trying to decide if a fall/winter garden is going to be feasible this year. I think I can tame the weeds and the grass and make a decent attempt at some fall/winter squash if I jump on it in the next two weeks. I’ll start some seeds in my little greenhouse soon.

I almost forgot. My sexy blogroll is back!! So excited. It uses graphics, proper link backs, and it rotates to show four at a time. If you are a regular reader/commenter/facebook frined and you want to be on it, drop me a note on face book or via my contact page. All I ask in return is that you link back to me, too. The blogroll is in the bottom right hand corner of my blog.

I did a bit of a redesign on the blog this weekend, still tweaking little things, but as our year starts back up and summer comes to a close it is time to get “serious” again about the blog. Please help me spread the news about my new blog location. I miss the connection I used to have with other bloggers.

If you use flickr, note that I have a new account for blog photos. There may be some there that are limited viewing so please feel free to add me as a contact so you can see them, but let me know who you are if you use an ID different from your name or your blog connection.

More later. I have children to snuggle and it’s SHARK WEEK on the Discovery channel. HA!

Congrats to Professor RevMrKnowTea! That’s awesome! I hope he really enjoys that new job. We’re still praying for you and your family. If you need anything, just ask. Except weeding the garden, It’s too hot for that.
Thanks! Yes, it’s too hot to weed the garden so we turned on the sprinkler in the garden instead.

I’m glad to hear about the new job. Congratulations! I haven’t been over here for a while and just found out about your baby. I’m sorry.
The butterfly and garden pictures are beautiful!
Actually, the garden is probably salvagable with some weeding and replanting for fall. It is just now time to do that in North Texas, so you have some time most places. The photos are very nice. Sorry to read about the miscarriage.
