Re-entry DOINK!

RedKoi

Life has been so full I did not even post the entire month of March. I have been so busy that I did not realize this until I got an email from BlogHer telling me they were suspending my ad feed until I posted again (because of my absence). *sigh* The crazy thing is that I have written so many posts in my head and jotted down so many notes of what to blog about I thought I had blogged.

DOINK!

My birthday was in March. This was the first year it was actually really good and not warped with some negative memory. I thank my loving husband and the sweetest kiddos in the world for that. I must not forget to thank Angella for encouraging me to embrace it. Because my life has been riddled with crap on and related to situations of my birth/day I usually ignore it. We have a tradition in our house that the day after the birthday the birthday person gets birthday cake for breakfast (if there is any leftover and we usually put one piece aside just for this fun). I have been trying to cut back my calorie count a bit (I need to lose 20 pounds) so my birthday cake this year was Angel Food cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream for the younger, higher metabolism crowd. For breakfast I skipped the cake part but ate the strawberries. Fresh strawberries are just so wonderful!

By the way, I am still awaiting my birthday present; it was special ordered and still being made. I can not wait to get it!

I think I want one of those one cup coffee makers like the Keurig. There’s different brands of them so I need to check them out and their reviews. Any of you have one? Used one? Suggestions?

If you didn’t read or understand the last post we lost our baby on the 21st of July. It’s been more difficult this time around than last time but for very different reasons. There have been physical complications that are finally coming to an end. We spent the whole month of July trying to get through this. It began on July 1st with a trip to the ER. The entire month has been filled with hospital visits, doctor appointments, trips to the lab and radiology (for ultrasounds), and other such things. I was supposed to take it easy, keep my feet up, not do too much. I obeyed, for the most part; I mean, I am the mother of 6 other people afterall. RevMrKnowTea has been wonderful taking on everything else on top of his regular churchly and job #2 obligations. The older three stepped in when needed as well, but it is not the same as having mama up and about and life as normal, whatever normal is.

Thank you to those who sent kind notes in the mail, email, facebook, and twitter. Your notes were received warmly and gave us some comfort knowing you were praying for us.

The (DOINK!) dance

Ah, the dance I do. I bet some of you do the dance, too. Or at least one very similar. I wish this dance actually allowed me to burn some calories in the process.

It is a very special dance. My dance partner is a large wooden frame in front of me with many poles attached to the top of the table. On each of those poles is a plate so very carefully balanced and spinning at a rather high rate of speed. My dance is the dance that runs back and forth between all the plates to make sure they are always spinning. If they quit spinning or even slow too much they may slip and fall, crash to the floor and break into a million tiny pieces.

I’ve been doing that dance a lot these days. With a lot of extra plates, many more than usual. Wow, the redundancy.

DOINK! – We interrupt this regularly scheduled program . . .

samantha

This morning I awoke to find our very pregnant cat missing. My first thought: Dangit! I knew I should have brought her in last night and put her in the crate. Now we’ll never find those kitties. As I waited rather patiently for the coffee to seep into every molecule of my system and wake my still sleeping brain I checked my e-mail and stared at my laptop screen while I decided how many times I was going to read the same thing over and over before I just gave up when RevMrKnowTea said, “OH, there’s Samantha.” (Wow, that was almost long enough to be Faulkner worthy.) Samantha is a year old and was born here on April 27th of last year. She would never really let the children play with her and would only let me play with and pet her if the children were not outside. One day, quite a few months ago, before we were able to get her fixed Samantha disappeared. About three months ago one very cold February night she showed back up to eat some food. She has gradually stayed around and let me pet her again, but she is still very afraid of the children. I noticed a rather distinct looking middle bulge about three weeks ago.
