Well, today started off with a bang and only got worse. In an attempt not to have a whole list of negatives I will tell you the beginnings of our day and let your imagination take the cue for the rest. I can not imagine your guesses being any worse that reality.
We loaded up in the car to head out for a rare treat at Krispy Kreme. The kiddos were excited and raring to go. There was frost on the front window and some water on the others. We turned on the defrost and RevMrKnowTea rolled down the front two windows to get the water squeegeed off so we could back out. Well, taking his cue a child rolled down a back window to do the same. In the process it fell all the way down and would not go up. It was 35 degrees and way too cold to drive up the road with no window. We tried to be full fledge rednecks with even more redneck super powers and duct tape a contractor’s bag to the window. We failed at even that as the tape wouldn’t stick.
We drove down the road a bit and found an O’Reilly’s auto parts store to ask for directions to someone that might could help. They sent us down the road to a Meineke shop where a really nice guy helped us take the door panel off and push the window back up.
The motor is burned out and so is the relay. The belt attached had jammed in the motor and we had to cut the belt to move the window. Once we got the glass free and forced it up with our hands it would not stay. We knew that was going to happen, but we had no way to prop the glass up. The Meineke store had a piece of 2×4 leaning against the wall. They measured the inside cavity of the door and cut the 2×4 to fit. Then jammed it up under the glass to hold it in place.
All was well and good, for the most part. Throughout the day the door kept making sounds it should not make and the sound and feel of air coming through got stronger and stronger. By the time we headed back to the G’parents house the outside door handle would not stay in the door and I had to pop the lock latch back in the door panel four times. I also can not get the door to lock shut.
I do NOT want to drive a seven hour trip home on the Interstate tomorrow. It scares me. We do think we have worked out a way to force the door closed, but my most precious cargo will be in that car and I don’t like it! I would rather test it with a drive around tomorrow, get it repaired first thing Monday, then go home.
Anyway, just so I do not end on a completely negative note here is a sweet pic from when we finally got to Krispy Kreme.

I pray your day was better than mine.
P.S. Please send chocolate.

Ahhhhh, heaven! What a sweet picture of your little one, Rae! Definitely will pray that your tomorrow is better!
