Well, the first weekend of this month we traveled to Birmingham to attend a few festivities at RevMrKnowTea’s Alma Mater, Samford University. It was so good to get to meet a number of people I have previously only known via RevMrKnowTea’s stories, Christmas birthday card exchanges over the years, and yes, even in the past few years I’ve had the pleasure to “meet” via facebook. But Sarah, there was simply NOT enough time with you and your seester! That is completely and totally unacceptable! We must make further plans SOON! You gonna be visitin’ B’ham again soon? Lottie and Bairno said they loved your hugs!
RevMrKnowTea sang in a Cabaret performance honoring a favorite professor of his who is retiring at the end of this school year. Dr. Bugg started it off by singing “I’m not wearing underwear today” from Avenue Q. I can NOT express the cackles and belly laughs that song got from none other than my own Bairno (a.k.a. nekkid boy)! Dr. Bugg is now one of Bairno’s heroes! A true hero, I tell ya’.
RevMrKnowTea sang “Being Alive” from Company (Sondheim) and “No One is Alone” from Into the Woods (Sondheim).
We also all had the pleasure of a real life meetup with someone I (we) only knew via the Internet. It really was a pleasure to meet them and the only thing that could have made it better was if their whole family could have been there and if there had been more time since we were heading out to hit the road. Maybe next time there will be more time or less pushed time. I would love to say more, but will honor privacy by keeping it to just us. But I’ll wave *waves* and say similar to you as I did to Sarah, minus the seester part but add in family and will forego the completely and totally unacceptable part seeing as you live there therefore your life is there on a different dynamic than Sarah’s. The point remains, I hope we have another opportunity to see you guys again on another one of our trips to B’ham.
I do hope we get to go back to B’ham sooner than later. I hate that we do not get over there often enough. After this summer’s trip got canceled that meant it has been over a year since we had been there. We have not seen his brother’s family in over two years. It has been almost four years since we have seen their boys. Life is changing too quickly and we really need to make it a priority to arrange more time with his family. RevMrKnowTea’s job makes it hard to get away though. Burn out is going to hit very soon if things stay at this pace without family visits. Travel is hard, but being out of touch, true time with his family is harder.
