This little piggy went to market.
This little piggy stayed home.
This little piggy had roast beef.
This little piggy had none.
This little piggy cried wee wee wee all the way home.
I have played this game with each one of my children when they were all little piggies themselves and they have each squealed with delight always asking to do it again and again. I obliged each and every time starting over and over with each big fat baby toe ending with a tickling of “wee wee wee” all the way up their bellies, necks, and chins, kissing them all over the chubby baby cheeks to end the rhyme.
Every now and then Bairno will still ask me to play piggies with is toes. I oblige.
After our loss two years ago I was accepting that I would have to wait until grandbabies came along to have another set of cute fat baby toes with which to play piggies. After a “duh!” moment yesterday morning I confirmed yesterday afternoon that we are going to have another set of piggy toes to tickle and squeal!
Some of you saw my tweet about it and some of you saw my facebook announcement, but not all of you are on twitter and not all of you are on my facebook list. So I wanted to be sure I announced it over here.
F.A.Q. (based on some q’s I’ve already received)
1. How far long are you?
To be brutally honest, I’m not sure. I suspect between 6-8 weeks, but with a lot of things going on here without getting anymore TMI it’s always a possibility with us and my body is not exactly predictable and it’s even possible I am as far along as 12 weeks. Really.
2. When is your due date?
See question, the first.
3. How are you feeling?
Mostly good. Evening headaches and sever indigestion and some tiredness that are all par for the course for me.
4. Are you doing OK? (I mean since the last baby died.)
Truthfully. I’m equal parts excited and nervous. I almost covet a bit of real morning sickness since that is a sign of a strong healthy baby, but I am praying this is an easy pregnancy and I do not suffer hyperemesis like I did with Bairno. Being practically bed ridden and on the verge of dehydration for the entire length of a pregnancy is hard.
5. What do the other children think?
They are excited! Moggiepillar (14) almost cried she was so happy. McK (12) gave me big hugs. Birdie (10) jumped up and down. LottieLoo (8) said his name will be Joe and she will help take care of him. Flyntster (6) said “OK.” Bairno (3) said his name will be Mikey and he will be a good big brother.
6. Will you find out if it’s a boy or a girl?
I don’t know. We have with some and not with others. It does make things “easier” for planning and such but I love the not knowing and being surprised. If we find out we will tell.
7. Will you tell us the name?
Nope, don’t think so. Not because it’s a blog, but because we do not share names before our babies are born, especially if we decide to share the sex of the baby.
8. When will you know more?
Well, we still have to work some of that out. Since we don’t have insurance and we have had severely crappy treatment via the medicaid process we have a bit of exploring of our options to do. As soon as I can get in with a doctor I will and as soon as I can get an u/s to see (for my own comfort) that everything is good I will.
9. Will you have this one at home like you did Bairno and the last baby?
Honestly, I don’t know. I want to, but I’m older now and having had placenta previa with 3 of the others I might not be able to do so. I am keeping my mind open to what lies ahead.
We covet your prayers and excitement with us during this time.
OH, and if anyone has a winning lottery ticket…
we need a slightly bigger house if possible, but most importantly we’re gonna need a bus or at least a full sized van. Seriously. We will not all fit in our suburban anymore. :D We do want more room in a home, but the larger vehicle is gonna be a necessity.
I’m wondering if after I get some good medical confirmation there is a way to make a puffed-up pufferfish look pregnant? I guess in a while I’m gonna have to hire my wonderful artist friend to squeeze a minnow into our already flooded fishbowl. :D
p.s.
10. Will we be seeing you on TLC?
I doubt it. But if it bought us a larger house and a bus bigger vehicle, I might consider it. For a minute or two.

I am still over the moon for you! Praying this goes smoothly for you and I want you to know I am here!

Thanks, Chelita. We are thrilled and praying hard. You were here when Bairno was born, can you believe he will be 4 (FOUR!) this coming November?

I never had morning sickness and had two healthy babies! :D But I do know some women only have morning sickness with their healthy pregnancies. I can see the logic in that fear. I will praying praying along this whole process! Can’t wait to be informed as things progress!
